How the Ruins of the Fortress of Szigliget, at the Lake Balaton were created
Once upon a time a nobleman from Somogy County wanted to build a castle on a hill called the Queen’s Skirt at the shore of the Lake Balaton. Every morning he rowed to Szigliget from the other side of the lake and he was busy with the construction all day long only to finish work at sunset. He got in his boat and returned home by the moonlight to take a rest. The following day on arriving at the bay he noticed that the walls he had built the previous day collapsed. In despair, he screamed out: „Oh, castle, oh castle, you have robbed me!” and he rowed back to the other side of the Lake abandoning construction forever.
